Making Compassion Part of Justice

A Just Society Makes Room for Compassion. The mission of the Institute for Compassion in Justice is to build capacity for creative and sustaining legal and community-based advocacy for young people and their families in Kentucky. As advocates we will work to impact policy, share advances through education, and provide legal representation in the most critical areas impacting the well-being of Kentucky’s children and youth.

ICJ also serves as the Legal Partner in a medical-legal partnership with UK HealthCare’s Kentucky Children’s Hospital.  The Child Advocacy Today partnership (CAT) Legal Clinic, addresses the legal needs of many of UK’s young patients when factors other than physical health impact their well-being.  A team of lawyers and pediatricians work together to ensure the best health outcomes for our youngest citizens.
